tomoko azumi's tables: spin, donkey, chest

Spin tables, made from oak or walnut and powder coated steel are are designed to work alongside sofas and soft seating as telephone and occasional tables. They can be easly carried from one place to another thanks to handle on the top.

Re-design of Isokon's historical piece 'Penguin Donkey' designed by Egon Riss in 1939 and 'Penguin Donkey 2' by Ernest Race in 1963.  To adopt contemporary needs, small table top is added to put mug and lap-top computer, also shelf size adjusted for CD and DVD.  Cut out handles add mobility for the piece, too.

A chest of drawers, can be turned into a low coffee table by single action - lift by top drawer handles.  Inspired by traditional Japanese dining room, which was turned into a bedroom at night, it was one of experimentations on furniture with dual function.
